Why would I want a CMS?

If you have a website with content that hasn't changed in a long time then you probaly don't need one. But if your website changes frequently and you want to free yourself from your designer / webmaster's shackles then a CMS is going to let you take control of your website.

What is a CMS?
A Content Management System (CMS) is a framework for your website that allows you change parts of your website whenever and wherever you want.
There are thousands of different types, both open source and commercial so choosing one can be a bit of a pickle.

So, yours is the best then?
It's not. blueMonsta is a small studio and I can't compete with every different CMS on the market for bells and whistles. But I can tell you that monstaCMS is now on version 8.0 and is constantly evolving. You'll get a CMS which is tightly integrated into your website, but more importantly is customised directly for you and your needs. And as IT is constantly changing so is monstaCMS. I'm on the lookout for new technologies to incorporate, but I'm definitely not on the leading edge. It takes time for new things to standardise and mature.

How does monstaCMS work then?
It's simple, real simple.
I supply you with a username and password for your website. Once logged in you'll be presented with the tools you need to administer and take control of your website. Say you need to change some of your content on your website's homepage. Simply go to your homepage and use the Edit Page icon to make your changes.
Once you are happy with your new text, click on update page and that's it. Your page has now been dynamically updated in real time. As soon as you click update your page is live on the world wide web. Now that wasn't hard was it?

Where can I access it from?
Anywhere there is a connection to the internet. You can use your computer or laptop, a friends, even a computer at an internet cafe. In fact it's even possible to use a mobile phone to update your website. All you need is an internet connection, sweet as.

Thats sounds fine and dandy, but is it safe?
Yup it is. As secure as I can possibly make it. I've never had anyone hack into a website running monstaCMS, period. The only person who can make changes to your website is you. As long as you keep your username and password safe from prying eyes that is.
The technology that runs monstaCMS is constantly being updated, and new security flaws are being discovered and fixed. It's a running cat and mouse battle between hackers and webmasters. I'm on the security mailing lists, and if something comes up that affects monstaCMS, I fix it and roll-out the updates to my clients. 99% of the time you'll never even know!

What goodies have you got for my website?
Simple, anything and everything. monstaCMS has tonnes of different modules which can be easily plugged into your website: forums, e-mail newsletters, website statistics, data collation and graphing, photo gallery, guestbooks, videos....... and the list goes on.
Even better, if you have a specific requirement for something you need, I'll try and build it for you. If I can't I'll tell you exactly why not and we can try something different. I like a challenge, and after all its your CMS not mine.
